This whole thread is great, but this speaks to me the most. Where I work, hardly a day goes by that there isn't a disagreement over how a given game mechanic should function. I put it like so: "It's a given that we all care a lot about this game, and want to make as great of a product as we can. But as with almost everything, there are always multiple paths to get there. Sometimes a path is a dead-end, but we don't know until we've gone down it."
