then just use plain HTML if possible. I believe in content over aesthetics, but I understand content management might be an issue
Random #AskingAutistics question: Do you have trouble setting up something like a website, too? I've had a domain for years, but I just use it as a file dump. Every time I try to get Wordpress set up with a good-looking theme, I get intimidated by all the settings and give up.

The thought had occurred to me, but if there's one thing I'm more terrible at than configuring Wordpress, it's plain HTML.

Looks fantastic! How hard is it to set up for someone who basically knows nothing about web dev? Is there a decent select of themes? Part of the reason why your site looks so good is because of the graphical assets you're using, and I couldn't art my way out of a wet paper bag.

When I had webhosting, it was the same for me, I just used the directory listing feature built in to the httpd.

Must admit, I'm not autistic,but do have ASD-like traits. I only recently installed WordPress on a server at home that I've been meaning to do for too long. I was intimidated (still am) by all the settings, and figuring out where things are, how they piece together, etc

I just go at it in short bursts, focusing on one small area at a time, that way it makes it easier to deal with and find documentation. I'm far from done, but I feel like I've made a lot of progress
