The dose was recently increased. The effectiveness being so short is pretty normal for most instant release ADHD medications. It's just the nature of the chemicals, amphetamine derivatives & the like.
Dang. Hopefully once I jump through the necessary hoops and get the ADHD I've suspected I've had for decades diagnosed, they'll put me on an extended-release form. The one time a friend offered me an Adderall back in 2011 was the only time I've ever felt truly "normal".
I definitely feel you on the constant struggle to figure out what to do. Most of the time I have to fight to work on something like MAME. :(

Adderall, which we don't get in Australia afaik, comes in a commonly available (in US) extended release form. There's also extended release form of Ritalin, & a modified release of dexamphetamine called lysdexamphetamine. I think Strattera (atomoxetine) is longer acting too?
Thank you for all the information! It's very helpful to know beforehand, as there are still a couple of months yet before I can get diagnosed. I wonder why some countries have certain medications available but not others. That seems weird. o_O

But the effectiveness of each dose only lasts a couple of hours (which is why I take it the times a day, & why long active options exist though they don't work for me).
