From what I can tell, the urge to relate everything to yourself is something a lot of neurotypical people deal with / refuse to deal with. I wouldn't worry about it, but perhaps try not to.

If you try to make someone else's problem a bigger problem for you to them, maybe consider venting those feelings elsewhere. But no, it just makes you a person. It's not narcissistic unless you can't value* someone else's emotions, wants, needs, etc *not the same as not noticing

Agreed! I always figure there's s an implied "...So how about you?" at the end of each thought during a conversation. Isn't that how conversations are supposed to work? Person A talks about something, Person B either continues in the same vein or in turn talks about their stuff?

I sometimes worry I don’t emotionally react enough to other people, if that counts? While I feel less “human” for it, maybe being calm might help in an emergency, so even out?
