On the subject of SPARCstation emulation: Sun's error messages are hot garbage and cost me several hours of digging into execution logs before realizing a given error message was due to user error and not, in fact, bad SCSI controller emulation.
For example, how am I supposed to know that "Cannot overwrite existing partitions" means "Hey, idiot, you specified overlapping partitions when you partitioned the disk"?
For another example, apparently "The file just loaded does not appear to be executable." means "The SunOS installer dd'd its miniroot onto partition B, you can't boot off partition A yet, my dude!"
