We are down 400 officers. Not "down to".

Which is why we should focus our
#policeState on Violent crime and limit their roles where they are clearly ineffective.#DefundThePolicehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohNk85CqIAo …2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

You continuously demonstrate how woefully ignorant of how effective crime fighting is done in this country. Little crimes lead to bigger crimes. Traffic and ped stops, guns and drugs. That’s how it’s done. It’s too late when criminals have already moved on to major felony crimes

This study disagrees, showing that reductions in the arrest rate of low level offences,, reduced police shootings and did not lead to other higher level crime. Do you have evidence supporting your opinion?https://twitter.com/samswey/status/1419664134191284227?t=jZhwvAYCjQCrnvxOyvMs4g&s=19 …

Samuel SinyangweVerified account @samsweyI analyzed data on fatal and non-fatal police shootings in America’s largest cities. Cities that reduced arrests for low level offenses reduced police shootings - and did not see crime increase relative to other cities. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/police-arresting-fewer-people-for-minor-offenses-can-help-reduce-police-shootings/ …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Nonsense. 30 years in the business and I speak for the ones that do the work. Ignore it like your progressive fellow travelers have done and reap what you sow. Anybody taking “academic” studies before real world experience is a fool

"Decriminalizing drugs is even more urgent now than in 1972, but we must recognize that the harm done in the interim cannot be wiped out... Postponing decriminalization will only make matters worse, and make the problem appear even more intractable.” --Milton Friedman, 1989,

Maybe you have not been paying attention. Your buddy Boudin and his fellow travellers have already decriminalized drugs in SF and if you think it's been anything but a disaster for everybody except the dealers and the non-profits who profit from it you are insane.

Chesa Boudin 博徹思Verified account @chesaboudinReplying to @chezpim @MattHaneySFFact: approximately 20% of my general felony team's caseload are drug sales. We do prosecute these cases, everyday, for better or worse. As we've learned from the war on drugs after all these decades of failure: this is not a problem we can police or prosecute our way out of.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

If you and Boudin say so it must be true………..take a walk thru my neighborhood in SOMA, not that a blind man that you clearly choose to be will see what everyone else in SF already sees

There is no war on drugs in San Francisco and it’s not Boudin’s job to end it elsewhere. His job is to manage an office, prosecute cases, and get convictions. Period.
