Yeah, that’s wrong. Promissory Estoppel is the argument used every single time, but it wouldn’t hold up in court for a second.
Wizards has said why they won’t revoke it and it isn’t b/c of legality. #mtg

Which would probably get thrown out because there are no grounds. If it went to trial, which would be miraculous, no judge would entertain it on the basis of estoppel

Sure there's an incredibly low chance they'd get sued successfully. But no company wants to opt into getting sued, especially since there would be multiple suits and they'd be in several jurisdictions with slightly different estoppel constructions.

The thing people regularly fail to consider, even if the lawsuit fails, it still costs you money. The lawyers get paid regardless.
