Aggressive move by the driver, but was the biker in the right or wrong at the beginning? Did he cut the driver off? Lots of things missing here. If I have learned anything about Bikers in new york, its that the never follow traffic laws.
-
Rarely am I on the biker’s side, but that driver almost hit me and Eli when we were crossing and the biker was right behind me and was also almost hit. I kept on moving, the biker did not.

Hi Liz, if you start following cyclists, cycling-activists & groups in almost any city, you will indeed see that running over (& killing) cyclists is seemingly quite legal these days as charges are rarely brought against motorists. Thanks for the article, & I hope its eye opening
-
Yup. See my pinned tweet for a recent example. NYPD won’t even look for the guy, and even if they found him, they won’t charge him with anything.

The reason the biker did this is not “testasterone from his long ride”. It is bc every day on a bike here is a day where cars take wild advantage of their privilege and put your life in danger for their convenience. Eventually you stand up for yourself.
-
I agree. This cyclist got fed up with the bullying!

He wasn’t on the road. He was crossing at the clearly marked crosswalk and the driver ran a red and nearly hit him.
