#vaccines are THE WORST business model ever. Order vaccine. Pay to store it and the insurance to replace it if your fridge goes out. Buy the syringes, needles, cotton, bandaids, alcohol pads. Pay the nurse to draw it up and give it and document in the EHR you paid for 1/ -
...Pay to copy the VIS form. Spend uncompensated time trying to convince a parent that vaccinating is the right thing to do. Pay for the stickers you give the kids, the billing staff, the wifi to send it. Have the insurance co deny payment. Fight. Maybe get pd. Maybe not... /2

Same for my practice. So much unpaid work that I would do again and again and again because it’s in the best interest of my patients and our community.

Thank you!

Medicaid for all will reduce cost until all doctors are forced to shutter their practices

We don't really make money on vaccines from private insurance either; I suspect they know that we'll keep providing them to patients even if we have to bear the cost ourselves.

It's different in different parts of Ohio, I guess. My doctor tells me to go to the grocery or pharmacy and get one for free since it costs him too much money.

Some practices don't even offer them; they send families to the health dept
