Does YT punish you for keeping streams up?

Yes! Pretty harshly. You end up with a bunch of long vids which most folks (understandably) don't watch, so then YT is like "oh everyone must hate this channel." Also some people just find it annoying having streams left on their news feeds. So then they start complaining.

Ah shit, well that might explain some problems I’ve been having with my channel lately since I leave every livestream up after I do it. Going to stop now but sucks because I know people like catching up with them after.

What I've done is set up a second channel for stream archives. You can also just kind of immediately unlist the streams, then the algorithm ignores them. You can make them available to patrons or build a site or something. Shame
@TeamYouTube doesn't just handle streams sensibly1 reply 0 retweets 7 likes
Ah okay sounds good I may have to do this - the system is so ridiculous, why even make it a feature or archiving them without telling you how it may impact your engagement overall
