Because of my tax cuts that I received - they weren’t much I know - but they were enough to get me on antidepressants. I just couldn’t afford them a year ago. Forty dollars a month probably kept me from killing myself. Sounds extreme, but meds make a huge difference.
Doctors would clearly fall under the executive branch, like the military. So Trump would have the authority to dictate that HRT cannot be provided, with the stroke of a pen he could end vaccines. He could mandate circumcision.

LASIK is getting cheaper every year, with open competition and posted prices. It is not governed the way other health care is. I think other healthcare would get cheaper with open competition too.

Nothing's cheaper than free

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

You haven't been to a homeless shelter lately, have you?
-
Volunteer, actually. There’s a tent city not far from where I live, and I go out there and bring food with my church. That food is not free, it’s just not paid for by the one who consumes it.
-
Well see. Universal healthcare works the same way. Everybody pays so that everybody can use hospitals. There's an irony in the fact that you volunteer at a shelter and still think healthcare should be capitalistic
-
Why? It’s a private organization that runs the shelter, not a government one. And what the organization does is far more beneficial than what the government is capable of doing. In large part because it is volunteers coming together to help the less fortunate.

OR MAYBE the government could create a NEW branch that isn't subject to the whims of every single president that comes through.
-
That requires a constitutional amendment, and would be interesting to see.
-
The Constitution is pretty much MADE of amendments at this point.
-
... no, it really isn’t. Substantially very little has changed, it’s just been clarified. Three amendments to say “all men means all men”.
