Thank you to all of you for the hilarious stories of all the crazy stuff your dogs have eaten. They made my day!

Oh, and if you came her to find out food that's bad for dogs:

Finally, good general advice: do your research into the science behind your nutrition worries (for humans, dogs, diets, whatever) if you're going to post about it online and provide sources. I'd be WAY into a link to a scientific study about feeding a 14-year-old dog mcdonald's.

I'm not saying "meh, dogs can eat whatever". But the amount of "bad" stuff they eat matters, and eating a tiny bit of something that is dangerous only in big quantities isn't dangerous.

There's even a handy chart! If your golden retriever eats like a whole hershey bar, the vet will shrug and say to keep an eye out for diarrhea.

Chocolate: if your dog eats chocolate and you call animal poison control, they will ask you how much and what kind (milk? dark?). It makes a huge difference! A dog can eat a LOT of milk chocolate without getting more than a tummy ache, but dark is dangerous in small bits

Second, SCIENCE. Things are toxic in different amounts. Sure, onions can be toxic to dogs. For a dog the size of queso, it would take ~2 whole raw onions to reach toxic levels. That tiny bit on the burger isn't going to do anything to her.

First, anyone who lectures me about the things my dogs eat (like the dozen people who freaked out about the presence of like 1tsp of chopped onion on queso's burger yesterday) gets muted. This is like my house you're visiting. I don't want guests who lecture.
