2/4: Prior to #COVID19 violence against women and girls was not uncommon. However, since the lockdown, women and girls are confined within their homes, putting many at higher risk of domestic violence and increased risk of violence by 30% in countries such as Cyprus and France.
3/4: Before the pandemic, less than 40% of women facing violence would report it or seek help. Other factors such as a lack of access to medical care, helplines, mobile phones as well as disruptions to other services will also intensify the risk many women and girls feel.
