So I saw #TheSistersBrothers with @Jairorobo tonight and boy was that an adventure. The movie wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t good.

      (1) It started off strong but then you realize that its probably the highest point of the movie. After that, it’s a lot of talking.

      (2) Most movies are A to B. This one was A to B, C to D, E to F. There were a few plot lines that started then shifted to a totally new plot. Hunt man down. Nevermind, help man. Nevermind, kill employer.

      (3) Despite a lot of talking in this movie, most conversations/certain scenes didn’t go anywhere. There was like no character build up. I didn’t have a reason to care about anyone.

      (4) There is a lot of sleeping and campfire scenes. As @Jairorobo mentioned to me, “Hey we made it! Waitaminute, nevermind it’s a little further down. Let’s camp out for the night.” And that would be it, haha.

          (5) There were some action scenes but it’s too bad they clearly didn’t have the funding to show it. JOHN C REILLY IS GONNA HAVE HIS BAD ASS MOMENT (cuts to Joaquin Phoenix nervously watching the action THAT THE AUDIENCE CANT SEE)

          (6) What was the deal with burying the treasure on the mountain side? We’re just gonna never revisit that?

          (7) The director is a fan of The Office because that is the only explanation for that random shot where Joaquin Phoenix gives exposition to the camera. Also, what gives with that final artsy shot?

          (8) That “climax”. What was the point of that montage buildup? And the mom? I guess the characters needed to go somewhere, why not the mom that wasn’t brought up in the movie? WHY NOT.

          (9) Joaquin had an alcohol problem until he didn’t. Jake Gyllenhaal and Riz Ahmed had a weird thing going on that even I can’t explain. Reilly’s “girlfriend” that gave him that red handkerchief? Whatever, she gave it to him, get over it.

          (10) What was the deal with that weird scene where Riz Ahmed draws the company logo? That scene made me lose it in the theater because it went nowhere, hahaha. What a nothing scene, haha.
