My music theory homework took me three rage-filled hours. Luckily, my night class got canceled right after I finished but I am still not a happy camper about that massive time dump

Reductive Analysis was my favorite music theory class. Mostly because the professor was brilliant and made the topic really accessible. Species Counterpoint on the other hand can go take a flying leap.
We’re getting to species counterpoint now, I’m super excited! (/sarcasm) I think you hit the head of the nail there though, my professor is really rather terrible so the class isn’t accessible or interesting at all

Species counterpoint has its place, but it can be incredibly dull. I do wish I had it before Composition & Orchestration, but by the time I got there I already had three D-1 schools playing my marching band arrangements. Maybe I felt like it was unnecessary for where I was.
