Our reason for fighting is... bread? I dive into an (overly) nuanced and thoroughly nerdy analysis of why the Horde and Alliance are fighting in Battle for Azeroth

I agree with this analysis on a "actually thinking about the world as a real place" perspective. I also feel like this has never been the official perspective. Until pandaria, the world had like 4 farms.

Oh absolutely, the realism in in-game WoW in the farm-department has always been lacking (how the heck do they get enough food in Durotar??). I extrapolated Azeroth to be more realistic for this article. It’ll definitely never be official lore but it is fun to think about!

My personal fixation are all the BC zones. The few times we've been there (for Legion Tanks for example), it seemed implied that the place is unchanged. But like... what? Haven't we THOROUGHLY killed like every bad guy there is? I want BC zones to rebuild, to plant trees ~

~ in Hellfire, to become like ONE calm and friendly zone. But because we need them for potential future developments that aren't defined yet, there can not be any mention of if they are ok over there.

That would be so very cool to see! I do worry though, in a game with expansions traditionally centered around calamity, if a regrown Outlands would ever really be depicted, sadly

I would have been fine with like, an NPC just saying this

I feel like I might have one time read about an NPC mentioning a revival in Outlands Nagrand but I cannot find the source again And agreed, that would be pretty neat! It’s always nice when Blizzard puts in little details that hint towards the changing world
