In a world cup final, the refs are looking to minimize the amount of calls to keep the game flowing and to minimize "acting" leading to unfair advantages. There were calls on both side that should have been made and those that should not have been made. Feelbads for Nederlands.
That absolutely makes sense but when none of the refs notice one of the players repeatedly waving them down because she's bleeding, I gotta wonder if it's maybe worthwhile to give a few more pauses in the pace of the game ....

.... I do think the ref-ing got more balanced in the second half but, at least in my opinion, there were definitely offenses that warranted calls which they did not get. The hands-off referee approach can lead to rougher and less enjoyable games
