Random thought as I procrastinate on my essay: Do you think there are colleges or universities or any other institution of higher learning in Azeroth that *don’t* teach magic? Are there schools that exclusively teach non-magical things like history, philosophy, or science?

I suspect that most of them would have been in the Eastern Kingdoms since that's where the cities are - but it's also possible that many were destroyed when Stormwind, Loradaeron, and Silvermoon were sacked by the Horde or Scourge. And if so, have they been able to rebuild?

Over in Kalimdor, the tauren were nomadic so their knowledge and history would likely be almost entirely passed on verbally.

The night elves are essentially governed by a theocracy, so most higher learning would probably be run by the priestesses of Elune or the druids. Although in Azeroth that also means magic.

That’s a very important point you bring up with the Tauren - there are likely a number of Azerothian societies with oral histories as opposed to written ones, so their education system is likely very different
