That is true, I suppose the word I was probably more looking for was superficial perhaps? It's always seemed like such a vain thing to be concerned with but here I am, being increasingly concerned with it

I know what you mean. I've felt the same way in the past (not about art, though, I can't draw a stick figure). Do what makes you happy and trust that people will enjoy it.
