I feel all of this on the same level. I stop posting my art to twitter for this very reason on/off because it really fucks with me. in the ends its just an algorithm and when people are online/offline. RTing yourself works if youre really looking for more engagement.
So there's this weird disconnect between what I think I'm creating and then what feedback I think I'm getting and it's rough

Yeah, I've been trying that but I think (/I hope?) the times I've been doing so haven't been optimal hours. But on a related note, I do love seeing your art on Twitter! I totally get the feeling of not getting feedback (particularly acutely right now) but please know I'm a fan!
