And I worry that, because of this, I'm shooting myself in the foot. Folks get known for their niche per say, and I occupy a few different ones. This is not to say I want to become 'known', but when much of what I do relies on community engagement, I need to be somewhat marketable
I don't think they're mutually exclusive in terms of being able to achieve both of them, but I worry that, by doing both, I'm diluting my abilities in both fields if that makes sense. Like, I'd be a *much* better leader or a *much* better artist if I just chose one

That's a good point, and I think a lot may come down to what your goals are, and if they are hobbies you dabble in for fun vs. a more serious commitment, and how important it is to you be a better artist or singer or leader or writer or whatever.
