One of my favorite experiences was canoeing in the Boundary Waters as part of my college orientation. My tip: put your watch in your bag at the start of the trip, don't take it out until it's over (ofc this was pre mobile phone because i am a dinosaur)

Ahh, see, this is where my habit of wearing my trusty waterproof watch wherever I go will help me out! I haven't taken this baby off in 3 years now, showers and all, and she's still going strong!
