Based on the feed back from many different YouTubers now @TeamYouTube!
YouTube is infact broken. Notifications are not working. And people are getting recommended videos that are two months to two years old.
Youtubers are experiencing a 20% to 30% loss in views.

If your career is being a trend you're going to have good times and bad times, it's just how the world works. All YouTubers experiencing a loss in viewership probably signals less YouTube users rather than YouTube being broken.

So, I see your point but respectfully, you’re wrong. There is something fundamentally wrong with the platform when my subscribers are getting notifications for a video I posted 6 months ago instead of the one I posted today. Or not getting notifications at all.

Sure, but to blame a 20%-30% drop in viewers on that is ridiculous. If someone wants to watch a video from someone, they will whether they get notified or not.

Sure — and subscriber views are important, and are driven by notifications to a degree. But it’s not just notifications. It’s how the content is presented to current subscribers AND potential viewers/subscribers. Discovery is important.

I don't see the issue here. If someone watches lots of sports videos, that person should expect that their recommendations be filled with sports videos regardless of how old they are, rather than something that is newer but they will never watch.

And herein lies the issue with your argument. It’s not just about the age of the content. It’s that the content never makes it to the viewer — subscriber or new viewer. It’s simply not being placed. Are you a YouTuber?

I'm not a YouTuber so I can't speak first-hand, but as a casual viewer I get recommended videos that are related to videos I watch and I get videos from channels that I am subbed to, and I don't see the issue with that.
