Finn had an incredible narrative scope, Stormtrooper with Force-sensitivity who became jaded by the First Order. That's never been done before and that's one of the reasons I hate the sequels. John Boyega is a fantastic actor.

At least John seems to be at a good place with the whole situation. He said publicly how he had a phone conversation with Kathleen and he hopes it will make things better for others in the future. Man is genuinely a good person looking out for others.

Given him and Oscar Isaac's pushing the bisexuality narrative as well, imagine what we could've had. We could've had former stormtrooper turned jedi on adventures with his rogue-ish ace-pilot boyfriend.

Making Finn the main character would have completely filled all of the things the sequel trilogy was initially going for: you can come from nothing be from a cruel lineage and still be a good person but also rise to be one of the best there was

It also would have shaken the foundation of the First Order to its core: Stormtroopers - basic expendable grunt soldiers - could rise up to be as powerful as the Jedi or the Sith. Could have caused the Order to collapse from within

I was so excited for a force sensitive former trooper.
