Thank you!!! It's so important for people to know that It's OK to not be OK. We all need help sometimes. We need to take away the stigma surrounding mental health issues like depression, anxiety and the rest. #BellLetsTaIkhttps://stickit2stage4.com/2018/01/25/new-year-new-meds-new-procedure/ …

totally agree with you. The stigma around it needs to stop. People can no longer be afraid to ask for help, for fear of others just telling them that they need to get over it. You don’t get over depression, or mental illness it is a lifelong struggle with serious consequences.
-
Hearing "Be more positive" or "Just smile more" isn't helpful. When you're in the thick of it, it's like slowing sinking into quicksand w/o anyone to pull u out. We should be cognizant of symptoms in others the same way we are of heart attack/stroke symptoms so help can b offered
-
I agree. I know several people who battle with depression and every time I see them struggling I give them a hug and ask if they need to talk. Sometimes the act of talking to anyone, including people you love and trust, can be cathartic
-
I suffer from mental illnesses so thank you for this. The people you have hugged, I know it made a difference!!

It’s not just on Twitter
#BellLetsTalk day is tweets, texts, watching the video, using the Facebook frame, using the Snapchat filter about raising awareness for mental health and it’s raised a lot of
in
. Right now it’s over 88 million interactions today. -
Last year over $6 million was raised through this initiative.
#BellLetsTalk#EndTheStigma#StartTheConversation#MentalHealthAwareness#SickNotWeak -
It's a combo effort to raise awareness and open dialogue along with the fund raising.
-
No it’s not. It’s greedy board members looking for cheap word of mouth marketing
-
If $6.85 million is cheap marketing... not to mention it's allowing people to open up about their mental health battles. I couldn't care who is doing it. It's working for the initiative.
#BellLetsTalk -
Why can’t they donate that $6.85 million without promotion on twitter?
-
They could, but how would that start the conversation and generate the buzz? How would that help people get the courage to come forward and speak out?

Thank you, Ellen. If you're an Ellen fan living in British Columbia, there's also a petition we're sharing on
#BellLetsTalk day to encourage our provincial government to ACT. We'd like to see individual counselling covered by our provincial health plan.https://www.change.org/p/adrian-dix-mental-health-in-bc-we-need-to-talk-and-act-letsact … -
Let’s not make this just provincial, let’s make it nation wide. Mental health should be recognized and treated in Canada. Amazing petition you have
#BellLetsTalk -
Thanks
@EricaHarr1s. National would be GREAT.
