Hahahah I was once at Michaels looking at rubber stamps and the 3 year old I was babysitting picked one up and screamed and raised up his hand with a stamp in it... “MARTINI!
my mom LOVES martinis!!!!”
The whole store burst out like laughing! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

It's not funny when your kid says that his or her mom is constantly drinking. It might "just" be wine, but still. This casual drinking every day is an issue.

I grew up with a dad who was a recovering alcoholic. It didn’t ever interfere with his work. He only drank beer. I hardly remember him acting drunk or being hungover. But he declared himself an alcoholic and went to meetings and didn’t drink again. I see some adult friends (cont)

talk of being drunk & having hangovers & drinking often & wonder how many of them are alcoholics as well. It was a rough life for kid even after he got sober. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I have years of preAlateen & Alateen to thank for my sanity. I wish I could say something.

I am sorry you had to gi through this. You see where I was going with this though? It starts with a glass of wine a day. And those constant mom=wine jokes just make me sick. There is nothing normal or casual about this.

I agree. Thank you for your kind words.

Funny thing is, children are more honest than actual adults. If you want to know the truth, ask the kid.

I think you are wonderful
@TheEllenShow but this is NOT funny. I was one of those moms, now soon to be one year sober. Drinking and motherhood/fatherhood aren’t a good combo.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Normalizing drinking as a means of coping with stress, as well as dismissing hangovers, concerns me. It's a slippery slope to alcoholism, and someone who shares her life with someone in recovery should be aware of that.

I thought this was funny then I remembered my mom died due to complications to alcohol at 59 years old in 1995 (due to secrets from "eating" at her mind from childhood trauma)
