good... although I can't believe same sex marriage is not allowed in australia yet :/, and I can't believe they actually need to ask people, just approve it for god's sake!!!

Problem is everyone outside sees that Australia has the Liberal Party in and thinks that they are actually Liberal. They started out as a centrist party but they gradually went Right. The LIBs are now a very R-Wing party.
-
It's a lot like how the USA DEMs used to be for slavery but have now become the exact opposite, and the GOP wouldn't be touched by Lincoln these days. Now that the LIB Conservatives in Australia see that they can loose their seats we will definitely get SSM passed into law.

You can see how their electorates voted in this tweet.https://twitter.com/workmanalice/status/930582194052939777 …

Proud? It’s 2017 and 39% of them voted against
-
The vote was deliberately designed by the conservative government to make it harder for younger people, people who rent, etc to vote. They were hoping to manipulate a No vote out of a Yes-supporting public, and they failed because support was more overwhelming than they realised
-
(the Yes Campaign also spent about 20% of what the No Campaign spent on advertising, and the government did nothing to curtail the complete lies the No campaign were putting out - I won't say what kind of lies because you probably know the general type)
-
I think i saw enough bs No commercials on my tv... i didnt really see any Yes ones though... just glad most of Australia wasnt easily swayed
