Eli Klein’s Tweets

I'm in awe of 's efforts. Despite no formal training, she manages to be consistently more scientifically accurate, thoughtful and empathetic than a team of professional epidemiologists in her treatment of Covid paediatric deaths in the US.

One of my biggest disappointments is seeing many of the people who were proven correct on Covid policy like I was, now being so engaged in Covid conspiracy theories.

An unidentified man wearing a mask on the subway shot someone this morning. Criminals here in NYC are encouraged to hide their identities behind masks and that’s what they do. Normalizing masks was a huge fucking mistake.

The junior Covid “expert” attempts to use confounded observational data, like an uncontrolled study with hairdressers calling their clients asking if they got Covid, to contradict the gold standard: randomized controlled trials that consistently fail to show that masks work well.

This junior Covid “expert” calls me an “anti-masker” (thanks). I used to think masks work well too & supported them until vaccines were widely available. But the real world data & RCTs are pretty clear that masks haven’t really worked, so I admit my mistake. It’s called integrity

Anti-maskers are still on this nonsense 3 years later. Let’s talk about this claim 🧵 twitter.com/TheEliKlein/st…

Either the Governor of New York doesn’t know that Covid vaccines don’t prevent Covid transmission, or she’s lying to justify the horrific discrimination against unvaccinated people. Both scenarios are indefensible and disqualifying.

A NYS Supreme Court Judge has deemed the #COVID19 vaccine mandate for health care workers "null and void" saying @GovKathyHochul and @HealthNYGov overstepped their authority by mandating a vaccine that’s not included in NYS Public Health Law. Today, I asked the Governor about it:

I don’t think the people who pushed for Covid shot mandates have much of a right to criticize “anti-vaccine” sentiment, because this sentiment was largely born from these mandates.

There’s a constant insistence that the reason we don’t need more Covid mandates now is because of high population immunity. But the reason we have high population immunity is because Covid mandates didn’t work.

It’s hard to exaggerate how big of an L Duke University took on mask mandates. They announced that they’ll likely mandate masks in classrooms on January 9, then were forced to walk that back a week later. People are fed up with Covid mandates and won’t take it anymore. A big win!

Duke just announced that they will not mandate masks, even though their region is still in the CDC’s “high-risk” Covid category. Another reminder that Twitter really can affect positive change.

I simply can’t accept that most of the FDA and CDC are still working remotely. It’s just beyond unacceptable. The Biden administration has destroyed “public health” in so many ways.

Wow, do you really think NYC’s mayor would be in Texas complaining about the border if Texas’s Governor didn’t send migrants to NYC? Regardless of how you feel about these issues, one thing’s for sure: sending migrants from Texas to NYC, etc., was a very savvy political decision.

On the ground in El Paso last night. This is a national crisis and we need a national solution. Mayors like @OscarLeeser and I are on the front lines and we need federal support.

Excuse me, but if masks are required at Duke in Winter 2023, then why wouldn’t they be required at Duke in Winter 2024? And so on… So yeah, Duke’s impending mask mandate is a clear indication that masks will be a permanent part of life at Duke, just like I wrote.
