I often find myself in some state of bummed out as I head to bed. It's been that way since I was a kid. If I stay up late enough, I get anxious or sad. Lately I've been assuming lackluster writing days have been responsible, but nope. Best day in months and I still feel like poo.

I have this problem, too! Anxiety sets in at the same time every night. Winter months are worse, too - it's like my brain suddenly becomes convinced the sun will never rise again, and life will be a sad state of perpetual shadow. And then, if I'm awake long enough, it goes away.

Common sense says to go to bed before that time...yet I resist it like a cranky five year old. Every night. I've always figured some of us were designed this way...every campfire needs a hyper-vigilant lookout, right?
