Most of the vets I know that I've spent time with in "the sandbox" and being in actual harms way don't feel the need to dress up like this. We don't have anything to prove. If you've actually been too war, you probably don't have fantasies about it breaking out in the US

Ever been to Maine? Many feed their families with venison they shoot. They protect their livestock from coyotes...they protect their families. We don't have a police station in our town. Many don't. There's a gun culture here for sure.

Yeah, I'm sure that applies to a bunch of them. You'd think if they wanted to do that, though, they'd just join a police department.
