Nobody tell the US Air Force's Airborne Battle Management System program, but I think the Army is already setting up their own software-defined, distributed C2 architecture. It's called CMOSS.

Important clarification: Safety pilots flew onboard what Boeing calls the “unmanned” EA-18s, but those aircraft were controlled during the missions by the manned and functioning EA-18G crew.

Yeah, if the pilots are dressed like this on my flight and it's not Halloween, I'm not getting on the plane.

SOCOM has just revealed plans to buy 75 manned aircraft for Armed Overwatch mission. That means the on-again/off-again pursuit of a light attack aircraft fleet for the U.S. military is back on. For the first time, however, the USAF is not involved.

A fifth North American company has now withdrawn from the Singapore Airshow. Sierra Nevada says they are staying home, joining Bombardier, General Atomics, Gulfstream and Textron among the non-participants due to health concerns about the coronavirus outbreak.

The US Navy and Boeing demonstrated that two unmanned EA-18Gs can be controlled by a third, manned EA-18G. I had no idea they were even thinking about doing this.

I might be wrong, but I think this is the first picture that shows the inside of the Air Force Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) at Beale AFB. And, my, that's quite a lighting set-up they've got in there.

Scoop: USAF's initial FY21 budget proposal included a LOT of cuts to legacy programs, ya'll. The final plan still calls for retiring hundreds of F-15s, F-16s and B-1s over the FYDP, but it's much less drastic. MQ-9s & A-10s escaped intact.

Just received another "yes" from a Singapore Airshow exhibitor. Raytheon says at this time they will attend unless the situation changes. That's three qualified "yays," including Lockheed Martin and Boeing. And four "nays:" Bombardier, General Atomics, Gulfstream and Textron.

People have asked me if Singapore will cancel the airshow. I don't know the answer, but doesn't seem likely. This weekend, SG hosted the Chingay Parade with 6,000 volunteer performers, including some from China. So large public events are still on despite Wuhan outbreak.

I know some people are having second thoughts about attending the Singapore Airshow, but it's important to remember this event has its own beer.

The P-8A carries torpedos, Harpoons and SLAM-ERs, but now the Navy wants to add LRASMs, JDAMs, SDB IIs and MALDs to the 737NG's load-out. The P-8A would then be truly a bomber, and the first one, as notes, since the B-52 for heritage Boeing.

Bombardier, a Canadian business jet manufacturer, also now confirms they won't participate in the Singapore airshow due to health concerns.

US government delegation and Boeing have also confirmed that they are still planning to attend the Singapore air show, although they continue to monitor the situation. Lockheed also previously said the same thing.
