Because the one(s) with the power to use it are equally bonafide. It is my belief that your country needs to prepare for the almost certainty of another 4 years of this & how willing you are to go beyond complaining on social media & into every day real life measures to stop this
-
It is my belief there will be a groundswell of Dems voting all the f*cking Repubs out of office.

We should use it, but the Cabinet cannot be persuaded.

“We” can’t just use it. The Constitution requires the VP to request the Cabinet or the Senate to vote on 25th.

We coulda, shoulda, & woulda... but that the Framers & Founders couldn't—no one could—protect against rot from within—an entrenched establishment of destructive interest intent on propping up said madman.
-
It wasn’t the framers. The 25th was enacted in 1967, 4 years after the Kennedy assassination, to formalize the mechanism of transferring power to the VP upon potus’ death or incompetence to serve. The VP must request the Cabinet, or the Senate, to vote.

The short answer? Republicans control the Senate. Therefore, they control who gets into the Supreme Court. Therefore, they have the last word on the enforcement of the 25th Amendment. We need to change that dynamic. Dem control of the Senate will dramatically change all of that.
