in web tech QA developers is starting to take hold as a title
We need a new term for QA testers. In the this generation of games, they're more than that now. They're not Testers, they're Technicians/Refiners/Assistant-Devs. Their suggestions, analysis and insight go further than 'finding bugs'. All games would be hot trash without them.

Excellent, a much more fitting title. Between the tool use, problem solving, initiative, software expertise and ability to navigate their way to design improvements: We absolutely need to separate 'Bug Testers' from modern Game QA. Both are needed but they're not the same thing.

1000% - We are completely misrepresenting what they do by allowing people to think otherwise. It's such a skilled expertise now. We're completely screwed without solid QA.

Very proud of my QA origins, in my past, I once had a dev say to me "I brought you out of QA!" a) no you didn't? I was at another studio, completely 5 years ago! B) excuse me.. Out? Like QA is some sort of pit? I hope you can imagine my totally professional retort
