Grasp, yes. Comprehend? I have doubts. That's why we talk though. I believe her kind, moral soul -now- is because I was careful with what she was exposed to until -now-. And what I couldn't control her exposure to was discussed very carefully and maturely.

Can confirm I was reading about the dangers of communism and marxism as a teenager. Kids can learn about politics in history, from a more detached viewpoint. While teenagers can get into current events since they need to prepare for adulthood in a variety of ways anyway.

Not wrong. What matters is how these things are presented. Adam's 100% correct that rubbing a child's face in grisly senseless murder is traumatic abuse. Rubbing a teen's face in it is too. Our job as parents is to protect/promote/prepare. Period. Discuss responsibly.
