I always thought it was a matter of integrity, the whole “your always gonna be the villain in SOMEONE’s story” thing.

When I was younger I went on a date with a young lady at a chain restaurant. when the waiter came, she was a little snarky, but overall okay. As the date went on, she was very nice to me, but became more and more mean to the server. I saw this red flag and never called her again.

This one rubs me the wrong way, but I'm not sure tweets are the best way to address it. I'll make one point in Adam's favor and one against.

1. Should you sometimes draw lines for non-self-interested reasons? Sure, though "self-interest" is a broad concept. I block a lot of people on this platform for being psychos TO OTHER PEOPLE. One of the reasons is that I don't trust them not to try and shank me later.

Sometimes, I hear things that don't match up to my experience with someone. Generally I'll give the benefit of the doubt until the truth comes out. But if I know it's the truth, then I know eventually that person will get around to stabbing me in the back, too.
