I used to think my writing had to FEEL BEAUTIFUL to me Then I realized my customers aren’t authors. Most read at 8th grade level and binge read on lunch break when they can’t watch Netflix I finally put my artiste aside and listened to my editor Now I earn a living as a writer
I understand the feeling. But Amazon is already full of books with 1 sale and 1 5-star review from the author’s mom praising him for being so clever. I’d rather write something new: A book customers want to read. Spreads a lot more of my moral message when I sell copies.

I see. Do you think you'd ever get more to that artistic level later on when you've established enough of a base?

When they aren’t a massive money suck where you’re just lighting money on fire so you can produce a book no one reads, yeah. Cover art, editing, and formatting ain’t cheap. And stiffing on those costs is an injustice to the work, professional or artistic.
