I remember one amazing Christmas morning, when the doorbell rang, and there was nobody there but just a bunch of bags of groceries. I might have been 7 or 8 at the time, I guess. I distinctly remember the squeals of delight: "We have FOOD!!!" Best. Christmas. Evar.

Curious your thoughts on something... One of the mommy groups I’m in on FB has regular posts at Christmas, chastising members who give expensive gifts to their kids as Santa gifts, because other households may not be able to afford to. I see their point, but also, freedom...

Sounds like a hard cope Everyone has their relative value. What one family sees as expensive, another sees as pocket money Judging someone with 100x your budget for their expenses is virtue signaling to others and to yourself

More like "Because your parents are horrible at managing money." There's 364 days of the year before Christmas Day; if a parent can't manage to get their kid at least one present; they SUCK! Doesn't have to be expensive, new, or bought; just something. No excuses!
