Thanks, I didn’t think so. The teaching is that God would never allow an untruth to be spoken in that circumstance. When not speaking ex cathedra popes can do all kind of evil, but they’re infallible when they don the authority of ex cathedra. God won’t allow that to be corrupted

It’s EXTREMELY rare. It’s also called “speaking from the chair” referencing St Peter’s chair. It’s a definitive ruling. Calling it rare doesn’t even do it justice.

Rare or common doesn't change the fact that the doctrine is there. It's just not one I can accept. Just like I can't be a Baptist without accepting rapture doctrine. Hence I'm not really a Baptist.

Really this is the doctrine of Christ’s chosen seneschal. To accept this teaching requires the belief that Christ will never allow certain things to be corrupted. If one believes all things can be corrupted, this belief becomes impossible. I can’t reason you into that, my friend
