I was adopted. My father is the man. He took on a woman and her 2 yr old child. She killed herself when I was 6 and instead of dropping me off to foster care, he bestowed his last name upon me. Those calling stepdads weak are internet tough guys hiding behind a screen.

Kids deprived of a father through death or divorce or abandonment or maternal wickedness who craves a father’s love but now may believe they aren’t worthy of it and is going to put you and them through agony testing to see if you really love them or are faking it? Deep respect.
