Very slightly. It was left almost entirely up to governors to manage their own states. They’re supposed to do that. They all got super lazy kowtowing to Obama for 8 years and expected to be governed by an emperor. That’s also why they’re so constantly screeching at Trump.

This whole thing was 95% left up to governors and they smothered us. Trump has been pushing back verbally on them but he’s extremely hesitant to ever supersede state rights. Several Democrat governors shoved the sick into old people’s homes. That created 80% of all virus deaths.

Ah. Yeah I was unaware of those inner workings (or lack thereof) of the local governments.

Not super obvious from outside the US. States are meant to function as separate countries united by common interest and open borders, with a weak overseeing government. Recent changes have really taxed this to the max. Trump is a huge step back and some people are confused by it.

So when people, including politicians are complaining about the federal govt not allocating money to solve the real problems (like homelessness or jobs) they dont know what they are talking about bc that is in local responsibility?

Legitimately, yes. They’ve become dependent on a centralized system due to recent federal expansion and overreach that previous governors allowed. That’s the opposite of the intended system and how it’s setup, they’re just used to being mentally dependent now. States are nations.
