“We need to let priests marry to end sexual abuse” is just another way of saying “Rape only happens when you can’t get enough sex.”

Its amazing when you suggest "personal responsibility" or "self control" or "deny yourself" when it comes to sex, how quickly and wide spread the attacks come.

I remember when i was in school one of my teacher's once said that Priest should marry and have family because they have the duty to teach people how to live a better life and the better way to teach how to be a good spouse/father is to be one yourself

It is not the job of the priest to teach people how to be good husbands or fathers. It is the role of the domestic priest, ie the actual husbands and fathers. Thisnis why marriage is a sacred vocation of the church, a calling, the same as with clergy.

God doesn't want us to be unnatural celibates. Priesthood is unnatural.

It demeans marriage, patronises men and objectifies women too. “In order to prevent men from becoming sexual abusers, we must ensure their sexual needs are met in some less scandalous way.”

Agree completely with your point, Adam. And also Noble Brown. Both of you are correct.

Since I am not Catholic, I offer this respectfully. Doesn’t mandatory celibacy for the priesthood put marriage in a negative light? Not to mention that it is a requirement not found in Scripture. Again, not being argumentative. Just my thoughts.

This reminds me of a joke the difference between Catholic and Orthodox priests. The Catholic priest is miserable because he can't have a family, The Orthodox priest is miserable because he has a large family XD. Terrible I know 😂.
