Fathers: You contributed to your 401k today to make sure your retirement fund will be there for the last 20-30 years of your life. Are you investing in your kids at least as much? You’ll have all those years to regret the kids and grandkids who don’t love you and don’t call.

This is something I think about daily. My first son lives with split custody between me/my ex but.. I really try to give him as much time as I can. He truly wants to live with me only, hoping when we get this house I can get primary custody..

That’s a hard road to walk, but fathers still have a lot of power even when it seems like the world against them. Your son needs your love like plants need sunlight. Sounds like you’re doing what needs to be done for his wellbeing.

Our first child is due in November. Spent the last year making sure my wife and I can both be home 90% of the time for the first four years. After that at least one of us will still be that available if not both. And making more money than I did being gone.

This is the right path.

Build your sons in your image , build yourself first Into the example you wish them to emulate. *some dual tasking may be required *

My thoughts were/still are, give them the knowledge and courage to face the challenges that will surely come, they always will and history shows it. Those challenges are lifelong hence being a lifelong example. Sons are 38, 32, 30 and call when new obstacles arise.
