When I was a kid I noticed my mom belonged to what I called the old lady network. If a restaurant gave bad service or bad food she'd hear about it instantly and tell her friends. Who'd tell their friends and so on. Within months that restaurant would be closed.

This was a thing in my highschool back in the 1990s as a bullying tactic against boys the in-crowd girls didn't like. The only time I hit someone that wasn't legit self-defense or defense of another, they decided to do this to me in the mess hall.//
