“Why do you love me?” Women ask this because they’re immensely practical when they choose to fall in love. Men just love. Then they figure out how to accommodate the good and bad. Women don’t understand this and constantly seek the secret reasoning, afraid of losing that love.

Women generally can’t believe men just love them for no reason and in return just want honesty, practicality, low maintenance, respect, and sex. Women are stunned that basically any woman can choose to meet her man’s needs but he loves her just because.

Hmm... I don't think my wife has ever asked me that. I've asked her that, when I was younger, but it wasn't because I was pragmatically looking for the reason for her love. It was because I hated myself and was trying to see myself through the eyes of someone who loved me.

Insecure men often adopt feminine behaviors. Glad you’re doing better. 👍

Ayn Rand certainly believed this was the case. She argued that love should be earned and that it is a response to seeing your values in someone else. I agree, but I think, in general, women have a higher bar for standards than men. Men are more able/willing to "make it work."

A man withholding his feelings of love for a woman is the most difficult thing for him to do because it goes against the nature of his being. But if given a choice between love and honor, he must always choose honor. https://twitter.com/TheBrometheus/status/1293722987812683777 …

Manni? Do you love me? Sure, I do. How can you be so sure? I don't know. I just am. I could be some other girl. Why not? Because you're the best. - The best what? - The best girl. Of all the girls in world? Sure. How do you know? I just do. You think so. Okay, I think so.

        - You see? - What? You aren't sure. Are you nuts or what? What if you never met me? What do you mean? You'd be telling the same thing to someone else. Okay, if you don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear anything. I want to know how you feel.

On premarital counseling our pastor asked me why I loved my now-wife. My mind went blank and I finally blurted, “Because she’s organized?”
