So far it just seems like you need at least two brain cells to rub together, a passing knowledge of basic tactics based on rhythm, and at least a toddler’s grasp on spatial awareness.

Totally misstated myself here, I played about 1.5-2 hours of the game. Chalk that up to fatigue because I WAS on the edge of my seat that whole time, though half of that was waiting for it to suddenly get harder.

Played 1.5 hours, not the whole game by any means.

I'm not great at videogames, but it took me 30-40 tries to beat the second boss. Felt amazing afterward though. From then on I made steady progress. Haven't beaten it yet though. The expansion seems harder. I've also played a fair bit of Dark Souls III and found it a lot harder.

I was wondering if Dark Souls would be harder, like if Bloodborne was maybe dumbed down for a more general audience. They hand out blood vials like candy.

This is the kind of research I could get on board with... One of the bosses was a real son of a bitch, Rom the Vacuous Spider, but he's pretty far-in. The trickiest part of the game are the bosses, for me.

I actually found Dark Souls harder, but Bloodborne is a great intro because no shields. Forces you to get creative rather than turtling your way through, which is boring.

Bloodborne tests your reaction time and features more aggressive combat (see Rally mechanic) Dark Souls is slower but gives you more options for combat Sekiro is a stripped-down version of Bloodborne, with only one weapon.

If you can beat Bloodborne then Dark Souls will be a breeze
