NABRE is the American Catholic Bible which includes the 7 books removed from the Protestant bibles, including passages Jesus Himself quoted.

Cheers Adam Perhaps a silly question but is there an optimal *way* to read the bible? I suspect it's not an A to B kind of read...

I hate reading the cover-to-cover method. My wife and I read a passage every night. We pick 1 gospel and 1 Old Testament and alternate each night. Keeps it fresh and you get a ridiculous amount of crossover where you see things line up between the books.

So a good place to start would be Matthew and Genesis, for example. Or Matthew and 1 Maccabees if you enjoy historical records of battles with war elephants.

For sure. Hit me up any time with any questions. I’m no scholar but I’ve stumbled through a Bible reading or two.

Have you read King James bible Adam? I am told that's a bit more authentic but really I have no idea....
