Going to Mass is a tough choice right now. Our small parish church was almost always packed to the rafters, but they’re only opening to 25% capacity at Mass. That means if I want to attend I have to get there early and someone else gets turned away. Can’t bring myself to do it.

So I haven’t been to Mass, received Communion, or given Confession in months. But by not receiving these I’m making way for people who may be in dire need and desperate. Is it the right choice? I don’t know. It actually hurts, missing these. But charity is a virtue for a reason.

I think it's noble, allowing those in need to get the help and putting others ahead of yourself.

It’s the most basic thing we are commanded to do: To love each other, to extend charity as it was given to us. Anything less is a dereliction of duty.
