I've been super ill this year (chronic, not COVID), with the added bonus of extreme insomnia, joint swelling, goiter, and almost uncontrollable weight gain. Beyond just sucking it is disappointing because the surgery I had has not resolved my issues.

It improved some aspects of it for a while, enough to get me excited, but those gains have been fading. Which means that there is something else beyond this issue that is causing problems.

I've been to two specialists already this year, and have had little or no results from them. I did have a bunch of tests run, however, and have been bounced to a third specialist.

Despite taking full replacement amounts of TWO types of thyroid medicine my numbers are still awful. Other tests are completely out of whack, too. For some reason, internally, I'm a complete wreck.

Thought it might be Hashimoto's, but the antibody test came back negative. So back to the drawing board.

They ordered an ultrasound of my thyroid and I was able to get it in before all elective stuff was halted. I have a growth on my thyroid that was enough to have them send me on to the new specialist, because they are concerned it may be cancerous.

I've been sitting on it for three months waiting for everything to reopen to take the next step on. Mostly trying not to think about it. Trying to lose weight and alleviate some of my other symptoms.

I haven't said much to anyone (and if you happen to know me IRL please don't say anything, especially to my kids) because I don't want to attention whore, but my appointment is tomorrow and I am nervous.
