And in the moment, people panic. Then the dust settles and they can realize what they did and reapply themselves to their actual principles. You can’t despise a man for giving in to his fear once in an extreme circumstance. We all fall short. Most definitely myself.

At my core I do indeed, but many societies aimed for an objective moral good prior to the spread of Christianity. Moral good as an imperative aim for the society is what keeps nations flourishing together.
