This morning my 3yo son got angry and told me he didn’t love me. He calmed down and spent the rest of the day reassuring me that he loves me very much. At night he hugged me and gave an extra kiss and made sure I heard him say “I love you” Empathy flows with healthy attachment.

Before bed he was snuggled in my lap and explaining to me that when he says he doesn’t love me it makes me sad, but when he says he loves me it makes me happy, and he wants me to feel happy and not sad so he tells me he loves me. Toddlers can understand this if you take the time
